Dear 2025 Finalists,
Congratulations on being a finalist in the Research Competition 2025! Your hard work and dedication have earned you this recognition. Listed below are the finalists of the 2025 JYEM/NY-CSEF Competition. We wish you the best and much success in all your future endeavors as you grow as a researcher and innovative scholar.
Notice 1: Work-in-progress papers (including preliminary research, proposals, or early-stage investigations) were evaluated using the same criteria as completed papers by a judging panel.
Notice 2: This year, we received 1,372 applications from domestic and international applicants. We are currently reviewing late submissions and freshmen projects, so the current list remains subject to updates. Thank you for your patience.
Notice 3: Recognizing that completing a project can be challenging for freshmen, we’ve created a Freshmen Awards section to highlight selected projects as finalists in a dedicated space on our website. This is designed to encourage and celebrate the growth of young researchers.
If you are a rising sophomore or an incoming freshman, we encourage you to apply by submitting your application form and research paper by September 5, 2025. If you’ve already submitted, please resubmit the files to ensure they’re considered for this special recognition. Results will be announced by the end of this October. Please review the Freshmen Submission Guidelines available under the 'Competitions' tab.
* Expo Update 1: We will make updates in about a week after the announcement of finalists and notify individually via email with the details. Stay tuned.
* Expo Update 2: We will personally email the selected students who are required to submit the seven materials listed under the "Competitions" tab by this weekend. For details on these files, please refer to the "Expo Information" section on the JYEM schedule page.
* Expo Update 3: The 2025 Summer Expo event will be conducted in a virtual format.
* Expo Update 4: If you are not selected for the next round, your project may still be chosen for publication in our journal. This process also takes time, and we will notify you by email if your project is selected. Please be aware that we only send notifications to students who are advancing to the next round.
* Notice, 8/20: Please be advised that the announcement of the final top 10 has been postponed to August 31 to accommodate late submissions. We apologize for the delay and thank you for your patience.
* Notice, 8/31: The list of top ten winners can be found in two ways:
